Garry was born into a Canterbury family where both his grandfather and father were artists. With this tutoring and encouragement he pursued an art education and acheived modest results before taking upa wage paying apprenticeship in electronics. Art has remained an interest and hobby to him through many years. Now retired, Garry is at last able to pursue his latent passion for art and is currently devoted to this full time. He has now decided to adopt the watercolour medium and has reinforced this by attending a number of workshops/study groups with renowned artists, As a keen boatman and sailor he finds that these memories are influencing his choice of subject.
